              that
                if
              I stood
               rapt
           by an eye
                or
           flaming kameez
                 or
              smile
                 or
           raven hair-

                 and
           if in growing love
              I dared
                  kiss
           an umber neck
                   or
                smooth
           a downy arm
                   or
               give her
                  her
                  first
                  rose-

                    it
                 means
                   she'd
                     be
             ceremoniously
                   dead
                     at
                   dawn
