Prime Minister Carney got a front row seat to
the collapse of American democracy this week – and a reminder that
the commander-in-chief isn’t letting up on his idea to annex Canada.
“Never say never,” Trump said about Canada becoming the 51st state – between incoherent ramblings about decorating his office in gold, “mean, hard, tough construction workers” and so on.
It’s a reality show. And Carney was a guest star on the Oval Office set. But
behind the scenes, serious people have plans to carve up Canada – and its vast deposits of fossil fuel.
Sign our petition to Prime Minister Carney, calling on him to block Trump’s billionaire donors from buying or building pipelines in Canada.
Take Steve Schwarzman, the “King of Wall Street,” who started advising Trump in 2016, and is now one of his top 10 political donors.

Blackstone Inc has already bought up $20 billion worth of Canadian real estate, and billions worth of Canadian telecoms infrastructure.Blackstone is also the largest investor behind Western LNG, the Texas company trying to get approval for a massive pipeline and gas terminal on the coast of British Columbia.
Tell the federal government to use the Investment Canada Act to
block American companies from taking over more fossil fuel infrastructure.
Canada’s only major gas pipeline to markets other than the U.S. is already controlled by KKR, another New York private equity behemoth.
KKR used the expertise of its intelligence chief
David Petraeus (former Director of the CIA) to crack down on Wet’suwet’en resistance and force through the Coastal GasLink pipeline.
Now
Blackstone is pushing another American-owned, American-built pipelineacross Indigenous lands. It would feed an American-owned gas terminal built in Korea and floated over to B.C.
Time is running out to stop them.

Why do America’s oligarchs have their sights set on gas deposits in Alberta and B.C.? The answer is twofold:
- Gas is how they plan to power a massive buildout of AI data centres, to maintain “American dominance” in a new Big Tech arms race
- LNG is how they plan to derail competition from solar and wind projects in developing countries, by forcing them to buy fuel from American companiesto generate electricity
It’s a depressing plan for endless global conflict, as the planet gets hotter and hotter under a blanket of methane and smog. And
they need Canada’s fossil fuels to pull it off.
