Celebrating Marmora's 200th with a statue in the park

SPECIAL ALERT

CELEBRATING 200 YEARS

Despite the limitations of working during the pandemic,  the Marmora Historical Foundation and the Municipality of Marmora and Lake have been busy trying to ensure that the 200th anniversary of our Village doesn't go by without proper acknowledgment.
Our logo is based on  a watercolour by Susanna Moodie that she entitled 'Upper Canada's First Mine'. It is now the inspiration for what we think will be a most fitting memorial, a fine statue commissioned to be installed in the Parkette in the centre of downtown.

Take a look at the preliminary work in the photos below and as always  if you want more on the Marmora story,  browse  our website -  MarmoraHistory.ca
