Balls to the Wind: Lenny Everson

Such a summer day
Only God could make
On a trail
I happened to take

An Eden of sunlight
An Elysian field
Pan pipes calling
Who could not yield?

An old guy naked
Head to his toes
Clothes scattered on clover
Dancing he goes

Into this world
And out willy-nilly
So few chances for sunlight
On our genetilly!

I see London
I see France
is this world up for Lenny
Without his pants?

An old clover field
A few weeds there
An old guy with burs
In his pubic hair

Arcadian Valhalla
Utopian chance
Out in the sunlight
I did my dance

Perfect Posting for this day.  Lenny is great to work with, saves me every year from winter oppression
with our sanity projects.  So glad you two are well,  this return of light has infused and scattered me.
Love and some of the light, from Katherine.

Hi Katherine,
All well here. Chase & I are fine. Spring fever of course, so I had to post Lenny's poem for tomorrow,
April Fool's Day!  Hope this is OK with Lenny? -  he sure sounds like a kindred spirit!!!!   ;  )

Dorothy, Earle & Al (from David Day)

Many thanks, David,  for these pieces of CanPo history  :  )
I'm forwarding them to Marvin Orbach*, who is archiving a lot of CanPo material for the Univ. of Calgary special collections.
I'm also sending it on to other PurdyFesters, both for their enjoyment & as a reminder of this summer's activities.

Trust all well with you (?) ... all fine out here in the boonies ... George Miller visited several times recently, house hunting
for a rural retreat - sure hope he moves out here to keep us rednecks company & tame us down a notch!

We're making some progress on the second Mosaic book on Milt - a 'Gedenkschrift' - a tribute collection - part critical
analysis, part scrapbook, part memoir, part loveletter ...  Do you have any memories/poems/??? of Milt you'd like to contribute?
The other editors are Terry Barker, Anna Yin, Bruce Meyer.

peace &poetry power!
Chris ... & Chase Wrffffffffffffffffff! (just hobbled back from a great spring walk on Marble Point overlooking Crowe Lake)

* I'm Marvin's main 'Judas goat' re soliciting stuff for his special collections - donations always appreciated - thanks for these!

Hi Chris

I was going through some papers and found a piece I wrote for the 35th Anniversary of Dorothy Livesay's CVII magazine and thought you might like it for your Dorothy themed Purdy Fest this year.

Also I came across this photo of Earle Birney and Al Purdy at one of my book launches in Toronto in 1983 which you might like for your Purdy archive.

All the best
David
